Karachi Zoo

Two African Forest Elephants
Their Ill health it would seem
Is brought about by negligence
Looking at them a scream
Inside of me apparent
A debility
a chronic complication
Their tusks it seems to me
And to others show contagion
Some infectihity
Work is clearly needed
Their keepers seemingly
Not aware of their illness
And, why it should be

Lack of hygiene dirty habits
A worsening of sorts
Tusks are missing
Possibly chipped away
Inexcusable thoughts
An air of criminality
Incompetence maybe
Irreverence and humiliation
And wavering loyalty.

Surgery is needed
The zoo director He
Apparently hadn’t noticed
Any irregularity
No apparent violation
No indictable offence
That would cause These elephants to suffer
And it really made no sense.
