Vegan Meals

Conflict became apparent
Almost from day one
Ordering food
From the dinner staff
Was anything but fun
What was described as vegan
Or Muslim sadly saw
A full compliment of dishes
And the staff then did ignore

The manager would yell at me
If I was fortunate she
Would actually ask me what I wanted
She would shout excessively
My visitor did bring in some food
But that brought wrath to me
Either she ignored the fact
Or she actually let me see

Just before I left
What happened the night before
A nurse took my bag of food
In the morning the staff was sure
I had put the bag inside her fridge
And so toward me threw
The empty bag complaining
This you must never do
then she ignored me she never asked
She aired her wrath at me
a vegan patient in ward 18
