A wagging tail but still in gaol

Take the hardy take the strong
Round them up where they belong
Kill their spirit drag away
Their heartfelt power
Day after day
Poor young beagles
Mentally
Work on their bodies
And psyche
Vivisection that’s their treat
A wagging tail
And now’t to eat
