Living in the forest

For the city folk

it’s so   indulgent

to live in the forest

with the bee’s  and the Birds

to rest in one’s bed with

the roar of bears possibly

And perhaps some wolves howling

You’d be  lost for  words

When you go out forgetting

The windows  unlocked

and a bear family itching for honey

and cake

break into the house

have their fill of whatever

and leave to return

Being well wide awake

this time a trap has been laid

and, theyare euthanised

mother and four bear cubs

Yes now asleep

Leaving  their scats

in the house so the Sheriff

toting his gun

the Bears lives are cheap
l

The bear family hungry

preparing to hibernate

a family not thinking

leaving their home

unlocked a white light

to any wild l,bear

whose snouts working overtime

the family  aware

The  people  the window

unlocked and inviting

it spells the end of the family of bears

a sheriff  who really lacks true  understanding

who kills every one of them

Saying his prayers

and perhaps, he better

for in his next life

he might be exposed

to a heavely place

where lots of big bears live

i bloody well hope so

so they can remind

Just what a disgrace

a taste of their  medicine

Chewed up and left

a reminder in fact

every piece now bereft

agony agony agony for

the sheriff and family

For evermore.
