Apparently an outbreak of
A rather bad disease
Has come to life in Shipden
Near Halifax and to ease
The actual situation
People have to know
That suffering from
This weird disease
Can be one awful blow

Wild rabbits they can carry it
But PET Rabbits like me
If we get infected
We die it’s best to see
A doctor and explain to them
The problem for I know
With swollen eyelids and swollen lips
And high fever
I will go
To my maker sooner or later
Maybe 14 days
Really to be exhausted
Not able soon to raise
My head up
In such agony
And it’s because of fleas
Or ticks or perhaps mosquitos
Perhaps some escapee’s

The RSPCA has acknowledged
That some RABBITs today
Have been diagnosed with this dreadful
Scourge
Although there is no way
Once you have got it
You can be saved
This is Apparently
So I have got the dreaded bug
Now inside of me

Pet rabbits need to see a vet
For vaccinations might
Help to get to grips with this
For it is never right
We have to all be careful
It’s viral and it’s bad

Really makes me sad
