Elephant rides

The tourist industry
Has much to answer for
Elephants though huge
Still suffer so
Riding on their backs
Is far from prudent
The anguish that they feel
I know you know

Exhaustion stress and overwork
Is killing
And all around the world
Elephants die
At half their age
A rage
In me
For sadly
Trauma and isolation
Weighs upon their hearts
So deaths are high

Making money out of angst and suffering
And getting trip advisor on your case
Clearly there is ignorance
and so much arrogance
In reality,you need to face
The truth about such tourism
Its most unkind of you
Elephants have big feelings
Apparently bigger than you

Let tourists see tHe elephants
But not ride them
That smacks cruelty right from the start
It disrespects the animals
Essentially it does
And leaves all of them
With a broken heart

Mitigate their stress levels
By caring
Tell the tourists no more rides
Today
They can watch them bathing
Or feeding
But riding on them takes their
Joy away

Imagine how uninteresting for an pachyderm
Uninspiring banal to a tee
Having various foreigners sitting on ones back
Surely it is true monotony
I ask you from the bottom of my heart
Today
To stop these elephant rides and be sincere
Care about your animals respect their every whim
Abusing them is wrong that much is clear
