Whaling is embedded
in their psyche
the people of Tai ji
in fact desire
the black strips
that they eat now as sashimi
or diced up with their miso,
the don’t tire
of Melon heads
of Pilot Whales and Dolphins
they hunt about 2000 every year
The Minamata disease teams
have been monitoring
the villagers
and apparently its clear
That mercury levels are higher than
they should be
but still nobody
yet dies of that cause
and any way as far
as they now are concerned
there is no reason why
Such wild hunts should pause
The Higashimuro district
of Wakayama. and Taiji
admit they do kill Dolphins
for they live upon the sea
The Pacific Ocean is their larder
it is what they do
Chuncho Marino or Sea Pork
as they call it
they value
Rick O Barry and
his band of guardians
and Sea Shepherd
and of course the rest
And Animals Rights
have set their sights
and of course we do detest
the massacre of Dolphins in the
cove around Taiji
which is documented every year
for all the world to see
its a bloodbath on a grand scale
its vile of course that’s true
but the Japanese are adamant
that what all of us do
In Europe and the USA
our slaughterhouses do
murder billions of animals
so where the hell are you
we slit their throats
whilst conscious
and mutilate them too
we hang them on tall gantry’s
that is what we do
we slit the throats of chickens
of Pigs of Sheep of goats
ducks, and cows
we slaughter tiny babies
tear their throats
out whilst they are still conscious
Yes suckling pigs and lamb
who are we to point our fingers
when we don’t seem to care a damn
Instead of coming to Taiji
perhaps we ought to try
and stop the killing where we live
for clearly many die
get our house in order first
and then go back and say
now stop the killing in Taiji
and its true, I have to say
What goes on in slaughterhouses
all around the world
its true, if they had glass walls
more expletives might be hurled
at those who want to eat
the meat, the dead flesh for its true
someone has to slaughter them
and cut them up so you
can feast upon the dead flesh
for their blood runs everywhere
whether its done in slaughterhouses
or in the cove, despair
for me, its clearly evident
in both cases its not right
the dolphins in the cove
and the others out of sight
So the Japanese do have a point
Dolphins, are their choice
We have chickens Ducks and Geese
Cows and Pigs whose voice
isn’t heard above the screams
the grunts, the moo’s the tears
packed with antibiotics and hormones
it appears
What I think we have to do
is all cut back on meat
lives are being lost each second
for our supposed treat
I’ve been vegan many years
its easy if you try
the world would be a better place
if less animals did die

You are so right and I had not thought of it in this way before. I’m against the inhumane and cruel practices used in the meat industry .We are no better than those who slaughter and murder the dolphins, whales and so many other animals. I have been a vegitarian for about a month and a half now. I didnt think it would be easy but the knowledge of what happens in those houses of horror has been more than enough to change my diet for good. Thank you for your blog and I look forward to reading through it.
Thanks Terri for taking the time to write on my blog, we have to look at it in the way the Japanese look at it we kill so many animals they kill the dolphins and both are wrong but we point ourfingers at them forgetting the slaughtering go on here and elsewhere. Thanks for seeing this point of view I have been vegan 40 years 7 of those years macrobiotic so I have a great deal of experience and as you make your way through my blog you will see maybe I put different slants on things anyhow thanks for the feedback its appreciated
