GURUVAYER temple and its elephants

Its appears situations have come to a head
Elephants seemingly ended up dead
Tortured and left in a most parlous state
Living in conditions worsening of late
Some with broken limbs then chained
Badly and
Left in their own mess
To now understand
Why these great beasts would be kept in his way
In a temple of all places its hard to say

The Hindu reported 4 years ago
That one “ADITYAN” never on show
But deliberately injured and chained in the dark
Many disabled and left to park
In the sun and in the rain
In their droppings as well
A temple allowing their home to be Hell

5000 years old this temple stands proud
Cruelty isn’t the kind of shroud
To be left now hanging over this place
With elephants tortured its such a disgrace
A place of great strictness to Krishna most high
Clearly there are problems here
But so why
Are elephants openly given such pain
Why the denials what
Is there to gain

A petition is circulating at this time
No smoke without fire
Living In their own slime
These poor beasts are suffering
And needs now must be
That someone goes in there
To check them and to free

Them if they are chained up
And suffering so
These temples are not above laws
But we know
Religion takes over Kerala though
Must investigate this one
Someone must go

Into this temple and investigate
For something is wrong there
And so we must wait
