The deep sea has many secrets
And one I came upon
Was the friendship that had flourished
It had never even gone
Away once it was formulated
Both realised its power
The dolphin and the mermaid
Together hour upon hour
She came from the coral castle
All those rock flowers so in bloom
And I was a simple plain old dolphin
Swimming in the gloom
Her light was all around her
Her hair her sable locks
Her smile was so sensational
Peering from the rocks
Her tail was olive colour
Iridescent to my eyes
Her heart I could hear it beating
And she was awfully wise
She knew where Neptune hung out
And where Delphin swam
She was a magical being
And told me that I am
But I am just a plain old dolphin
Nothing special here
I only glow when she is around
And when she does appear
I like to swim around with her
And even surface too
And bathe within the suns warm gaze
Like other couples do
It was her tHat made me confident
And taught me to be me
She really is my inspiration
And happier I be
When I meet up with myrtle
The mermaid and she knows
That swimming with her in the blue
Creates inside such prose
