Repeal?

It’s never a marriage made in heaven
Such blissfulness must be
Our allegiance to conservatism
Really holds the key
A dictum from the leadership
Where Spread-eagleism rules
There is no dignity in this
Just a flattering of fools

To conserve is not to slaughter
It’s to care for and to save
It’s unfashionable behaviour
A brutish savage knave
A title less barbarian
Who harps back to long ago
Who brings shame on his party
Who just goes with the flow

To hunt with hounds
Is clearly a curious device
A thirstiness for wild blood
Yes Time honoured advice
That truthfully lacks all honour
To repeal a gentle law
And replace it with such disesteem
It’s something to ignore

It’s unpopular and dishonourable
Unheroic can I say
MP’s should vote with hearts and minds
Not be bullied all the way
Use heedfulness and wisdom
Be circumspect and free
Calculate the loss of face
Be more gingerly

The faint hearts never won their cause
Want of courage they
Were gallant and red blooded
Persevering all the way
Join blue fox against repeal
Let’s not Run with the pack
Be persistent be ourselves
We all have our way back

Don’t be tarred with the same brush
We have a fight we know
Our wild friends in our forests
Should be left to thrive and grow
The heartache of each moment
The misery we feel
The discomfort of each moment
And what that does reveal
