They label us free range
Some call us organic
But truly it’s sadness
Our lives full of panic
Confined in a cage
Without a door
And so free ranging
Like never before
This isn’t freedom
It’s improbity
So called inspectorate
Come look at me
It’s all untruthful
So insincere
It’s just deception
For we live in fear
If we stop laying
That’s it we become
Useless to them
They call us dumb
But we have our language
We have hearts too
We love the forest
Just like you do
You make us victims
And here we just lay
Crusted over water
And big lights all day
Terrible food
And no where to go
They call us free range
But the cost is not low
We suffer like crazy
Our feet chipped they bleed
Our eyes all glazed over
How can we succeed
Peck
King each other
Mayhem and pain
Stuck in confinement
Objects again
The so called man farmer
Thinks nothing of us
We sit on each other
We kick up a fuss
But this arse won’t listen
The water is crud
The food is so vile
It all tastes like mud
Thank you that your rescued us
Your soft pink hands
Animal equality
We AR your fans
You took us out of there
You gave us space
You offered us love
And truly good grace
Out of the box we gently appeared
In the midst of a forest
The chicken boys cheered
A soft hand it stroked us
The ladies they smiled
We were saved we were here
We somehow reconciled
We could feel the sunshine
We could see the light
We opened our eyes
We saw something white
And green lots of grass
We had reached somewhere where
All of the beauty on earth
We could share
