A 600 year history
has some worthy notes
But slaughtering dogs to fulfil this wish
Clearly is causing pain
Even in China the people
Purposely refrain

From creating so much carnage
Despite the cultural past
Despite the medical benefits
It seems their die is cast
Changes are now coming
The realisation seems
To occupy the minds of many
Clearly there are teams

Of people into Animal Rights
And feel it’s just not right
To clear the streets of strays and feral’s
And pet dogs too
The might
Of emotion sweeps across them
The middle classes do
Want pet dogs and others
That appears the view

They expect to see this torture
This evil and despair
The destruction of a species
In a festival of death
Denying them a future
Denying them shared breath

Their thrustful canine ebullience
The violence of it all
The turmoil and the ferment
Chained up against the wall
Overwhelmed with beatings
Enraged and maddened they
Are plunged into the boiling tanks
And become soup right away
Then Liquidated earnestly
And Really made to pay

Some are kept in cages
Thrust in tightly,they
Are being squashed and also coshed
About the head each day
It was sombre it was ugly
Pole axed dramatically
Screams and whelps and terror
That Everyone could see
The evidence was everywhere
A blood bath now there be

And this they called a festival
Their judgement shot away
A mis reckoning such fanaticism
How an animal race can pay
How parochial and jaundiced
A massive blind spot they
Carried on the murdering
With few around to say
They shouldn’t, they went on with it
Traditional but wrong
Whole families were included
It just did not belong

How could this be regarded
As a festival where joy
Was shared amongst the people
Really they did employ
No attention to the wonderment
And default on the way
They carried on the evil
Almost to this day

The scholarly the ignorant
Supposedly the wise
Couldn’t see the absurdity
And adding to their demise
Creating this mis guidance
This infuriated state
A great abyss of canine blood
Being added to of late

Onto social media
And the animal right teams who
Used their warrior tactics
Their words and slogans too
The psychotic madcap loonies
Who for some 600 years
Had been slaughtering the innocent
The buckets of blood and tears
The many who just turned away
Not prepared to fight
All of them were overcome
By the courage and the might
Boys and girls all warriors
With bright eyes they could see
An army of social media
Clearly they were free

The Jin hua cultural dog kill
Was cancelled overnight
Clearly all the powers to be
Of course they saw the light
Bearing down on each of them
This squalor and this pain
What had gone on for 600 years
Would not happen again

China is beginning to
See the age old sin
Of Prehistoric carnage
As their means to underpin
Culture and tradition
It really has to go
It came from the dark ages
Which is positive as now they know
