Canberra its up to you to stop the killing of the iconic Kangaroo

So your exporting your precious
Kangaroo’s to South Korea
Southern Game Meats are exporting
100 tonnes and its clear
The Gov’t should step in
And stop the killing now
Wild steak sold in your hotels
Does not give out a wow!
feeling, I can tell you
in fact what it does do
Is make us want to boycott
Those Hotels who tell you
The steaks are from WILD kangaroos
Like the hotel, where I stayed
In a place I ‘d never go back to
South Terrace in Adelaide

Sausages, rissoles Smoked meats
opening markets where
Your corporates are mindless
The Kangaroo’s despair
They’re the face now of Australia
Un yet they’re treated bad
clubbing a million joey’s
I’m sorry its so sad
Your image outside in the world
Is falling by the day
A valuable Tourist Industry
Can be frittered away

Bar Code killings
Out in Queensland
Yea it makes the news
And pisses off, people like me
With clearly different views
Hunters have no foresight
They completely miss the point
Your killing off your heritage
For some prime bloody joint
You cannot see a Kangaroo
from the Ghan
not one, I saw
Nor the India Pacific
not one, not one, no more

Kill the bloody lot of them
and ship them to Korea
And earn your bloodied dollars
No doubt it brings you cheer
Its on your National Airline’s wings
But maybe what you do
Is erase it with a message
and replace it with a view
Of South Koreans
eating the poor old Kangaroo
Who was living in the outback
Before the lot of you

You people now in Canberra
Who make these rules, you must
Go out, into the outback
And feel that rich red dust
See how many Kangaroo’s
you can find out there
Take your high powered rifle
And what is complete despair
Kill 2000 more of them
slaughter them at will
Then fill in those bar codes
Just writing it I feel a chill

Run down my spine
For I wonder what’s wrong
with all of you
Honestly I shiver
at the thought
of what you do
Just kill for the sake of killing
Using heartless souls who will
pick up the tab
And their karma
will also spill on you

Tried to send it to the first Minister in Canberra blocked!
Tried to send it to the Chronicle Newspaper Editor Blocked!
Australia seems to be copying the old ostrich policy head in the sand
its not really happening
