The Navajo Nation and the Uranium Mining

There appears no salvation
For the Navajo Nation
Why must they wrestle
with fear all their days
Its American brothers
and probably others
deny to them all of the ways
They came with their corporate dogma
Uranium then was their prize
Using the Navajo people
to gather, but telling them lies
Unthinkingly it has polluted
The Navajo lands and of course
The corporates crept
they are very adept
away in the darkness
a source
of conjecture
now threatens the water
all of it was there’s by right
and what can be done
how the corporates run
for the Navajo its far from bright

It was clear from the onset that
people would suffer
this was as clear as the sky
It was money and profit
and corporate wealth
that drove them to mine here
thats why
they cleaned up a bit
but they knew it would surface
anxiety came to the fore
The Church Rock Disaster
moved things on, much faster
a tailing dam burst
and what’s more
The half life for this sickly science
is measured in millions of years
The Navajo Nation will see no
Salvation
except in the worst of their fears
The US must now help them quickly
for otherwise it will be seen
as a nation that knowingly harms
its own people
Like The Navajo clearly have been
Exploited and put down
and ravaged
Their land and their water supply
Uranium Mining and Corporate profit
has been terrifically high
For the Navajo nation
were guardians who
have all of the right on their side
Whilst Corporate America
bulldozes its way
and the Navajo have been denied

I have to tell them
that time’s running out
The Navajo don’t have a choice
They can’t stay around drinking
polluted water
Someone must now use their voice
To cry out aloud to the world
out there who
must listen to what is pure sin
Corporate profit has really messed up
this is fact, this is now, its not spin
We have to come up with a solution here
The Navajo must now be heard
Or America’s influence out in the world
will just be, another swearword.
