Foreskins

Burke and Hare

the forerunners

from the gruesome to the dark

in those ancient burial grounds

twas where they left their mark

dealing in the sinister

a business with the dead

the unscrupulous the opportunism

its disingenuousness,   I said

I can just imagine it

the gloom and doom of night

somewhere in the backyard

clearly out of sight

the vile cosmetic people

with their nasty little truck

are collecting foreskins

and other human muck

its all routine how nice that is

but nobody’s aware

the parents of the infants

me and you we share

thoughts about such goings on

and despite

babies being butchered

nobody does care

the parents haven’t got a clue

you can’t dream up this stuff

has anyone got a conscience

really I’ve had enough

everyone is at it

skulduggery everywhere

wickedness is watered down

complicity despair

the wrinklies pay anything

to be youthful they will spare

half their bloody pension

to show the mirror they

still have skin like rose petals

in the light of day

improbity s the catchword

on everybody’s lips

everyone is at it

deviousness it rips

through our very fabric

misdealing’s  it is true

and certainly it isn’t cut and dry

what people do

corruption will be widespread

foreskins to the fore

wrinkle creams those far off dreams

in the departmental store

emphasis on mental

many are today

Foreskins maybe 6 skins 8 skins

10 skins and we pay

through the nose all of them

a fortune its the thing

recycling the body parts

has that familiar ring

of Burke and Hare

and the body snatchers

horror from a bygone time

grave robbers and all of that

out of the pit we climb

its lucrative apparently

a market full of woe

and someones making money

that’s if you are in the know

a shiny face

a pot of cream

the labels telling lies

Burke an Hare are somewhere there

they were just two guys

in it for what they got out of it

so nothing’s really changed

the hospitals the cosmetic shops

and half the world’s deranged
