Live Exports to the Middle East

Dealing in live animals

makes for a heartless bunch

how can you raise a soul

from an infant stage

and then eat it for lunch

to me  it is deplorable

that people can become

so distant from

a relationship

but  really there are some

who can and do

create a feeling

that the animals

in their charge

are purely a commodity

sort of real mirage

its just a thing for selling

and making lots of dough

ship them out to Gaza

to Kuwait

you don’t want to know

what happens on the long voyage the fear

that they display

the torture and the impoverishment

that happens along the way

you’ve done the very best for them

and now they are on their own

the money is in the bank for them

more seeds have now been sown

so let them be, you cannot care

they have gone and you can be

using the money you got for them

to do it again and see

and so the poor souls leave your place

and go down to the port

manhandled just like cargo

now in, nobody’s thought

you’ve turned your back

the fear is there’s

and boy don’t they display

lots of it, and rightly so

because they feel that way

internally they are innocent

their consciences are clear

unhardened and immaculate

and are certain to endear

despite this they are neglected

shoved about and told

sworn at, kicked and they get no food

because they have been sold

man has a heart of granite

he will not share his dues

and so the animals know great sadness

but they just refuse

to accept man is this awful

which he surely bloody is

Gaza or  somewhere else

#now looms and proves it is the biz

such diabolical energy

and evilness galore

led into the abattoir

with the blood soaked  floor

they slip and slide and smell and know

death is going to be

violent, painful, torturous

they sense it rapidly

for they have deep set feelings

and  emotions are running high

but the farmers back in Australia

care not, the reason why

they’ve wiped their hands of them

and they can die alone for they

now belong to someone else

who will help them on their way

there is no guilt

culpability they will disown

these are hard men

blameless

with hearts and souls of stone

what happens to them now

or in the future, they don’t care

out of sight and out of mind

so completely unaware

and so the mother of all torture’s

is coming to them all

eyes gouged out and throats slashed badly

its never been so cruel

tied up to a pillar and jabbed around the neck

put inside a an exporter funded audit

they did check

every aspect of the killing zone

or so we hear

but must have been half pissed on

something

for its more than clear

the practice is egregious

is frighteningly sad

and the way it all is carried out

is exceptionally bad

there is no real control

nor is their expertise

these beauties they get slaughtered

whilst they are begging on their knees

Australia I blame you

your quest for exports seem

to take you over torture

and I suppose your team

of inspectors went and checked it all

and ticked the sheets to say

the animals get a good send off

and are eaten right away

How you bloody sleep at night

only you lot know

those cows must scream

into your ears

and the painfulness must grow

like a cancer deep inside of you

for creation cannot bear

to see what you do to its sweet perfection

sending them over there

for creation

what we see at Gaza

makes us regret our eyes

ever looked towards them

its makes us realize

that live exports are an anathema

an evil of our making

they malign us all for allowing them

and are purposefully heart breaking
