You thought I never knew you
but I was part of you
you made me into what I was
one of the very few
unique souls, I imagined
my place to be beside
you know of course I loved you
and you know
I never died
I am with you now forever
for so many children do
escape into the spirit
no medical terms for me
but I came and I grew
inside of you
until i did break free
you thought perhaps of burial
but why, for I was whole
I leapt into another place
for I was a precious soul
with all your burgeoning tissue
and your precious DNA
I was every part of you
growing stronger by the day
your heart beat was the music
when you, laid down to rest
that’s when silence transcended
a time, I remember best
often you would talk to me
I felt your hands, as you
touched my growing warm domain
as many mothers do
I never died
I always tried
to nestle in your soul
you were, always, my mother
in complete control
immersing yourself in water
I remember, the perfume
I recall Kate Bush and Lion heart
echoing through your womb
Now of course I am older
almost 25
its been a gradual process
how I could survive
without you
close to me, of course
I still have sight and sound
the ether is my portal
and at night I am around
often I observe you
in the peacefulness where woe’s
silently
and softly
the serenity in you flows
your eyes closed to the heavens
your breath a shallow sound
tis then I sit beside you
dear mother
and I’ve found
great solace in positioning
myself beside your bed
listening to that same heart beat
sweet music, as I said
how I love you mother
you know I never died
I am with you
now forever
when you sleep
I am by your side
