Contamination leads to mutations

Who remembers Azerbaijan
BP remember it all began
faulty cement or so they say
when the bloody disaster was on its way
and then it happened all again
the Gulf Coast disaster
and it was plain
this was even worse this time
nothing learned so another climb
out of the abyss where 11 souls
perished carrying out their roles
4.9 million barrels of oil
tipped into the sea and began to boil
2 million gallons of oil based dispersant
was then sprayed to contain
and this disaster caused untold damage
and truly so much pain
and now we see some repercussions
its not Islam and its not the Russians
its all about the corporations
and their lousy operations
deep sea drilling is where we
see
massive risks eventually
and its confirmed now by the sight
of sea life that does cause a fright
mutations they are everywhere
eye less shrimps and claw less crabs
sores and lesions is it fair?
oozing festering such despair
again more arrogance we display
white shrimps it seems have been
blown away
brown shrimps they too have no eyes
and no eye sockets a surprise
crabs shells they have remained soft
gaping holes their legs aloft
awful lesions everywhere
bloodied wounds which so many share
contamination has clearly made
the sea life family kind of fade
into oblivion one by one
mutations picked out by the sun
in the sand still we can see oil globules
its biodegradability
far longer than they thought it would be

But despite all this the EPA
says you can eat it
its all okay
the facts are they don’t really know
or care I think what goes on below
its someone else’s problem, they
pass the buck that’s what they say
whether its deep sea drills or fracking
we now know that they are lacking
when the shit does hit the fan
they go
into their bunker plan
and we suffer more than what some do
we know the score we pay the price
and the price we pay
its far from nice
its out of the news
and not on TV
so nobody knows
its kept low key
but the repercussions
are worse than bad
and for all the sea life
its very sad
