You know what its like
when your pants are too tight
its really uncomfortable
and your legs can go white
imagine a sow as big as she
wedged in a crate
and there she has to be
she can’t turn around
and she cannot scratch
she cannot stand up
she tries to attach
some importance to being
but really she’s sad
that humans who care for her
do act this bad
and why do they do this
its all about space
how many sows
can they fit in one place
in a real tiny barn
the more they can store
the better the profit
that’s what its for
men pay with hearts
when the farms sow I hear
a few extra inches
would mean some more cheer
but farmers care nothing
of sows in tight crates
they are mindless and senseless
with inhumane traits
the feeling a sow has
when she can’t turn around
she’s forced on the defensive
stuck on the ground
where its dirty and draughty
and smelly there too
and pigs are clean animals
that’s what they do
and this sow is pregnant
she’s carrying souls
she sits where she shits
this is really poles
away from reality
for she would be
dumping away from her bedroom
and we
again put our profit before
what sows need
their circulation suffers
and sometimes they bleed
and they have to sit in that
that’s what we do
create purgatory
that’s what they are put through
gestation crates
are a thing of the past
the fact they are still used
is their farmer is cast
in a role from the dark ages
clearly we will
feed them on toxics
and some household swill
thrown at them probably
that’s what we do
show no respect
we don’t have a clue
we harm them and poke them
and imprison them too
and we don’t even give them
enough space for a loo
this is a message to all you
hard men
who put your bank balance
in series of ten
I think you are shits
to treat pigs this way
there’s no rhyme or reason
to do it today
so what if you lose
a few cents in the pound
leaving these ladies
stuck on the cold ground
husbandry honest
you don’t have a clue
I suggest that you think
this whole matter through
