Roumania’s strays

Stray dogs are for the chop
and that is literally
people take it in their own hands
to
take an axe and try to chop their heads
off
how men in the street
could ever do
such a crime to any living creature
and what makes people act in such a way
are they really suffering
mental torture
and do these dogs affect them
anyway
are they fouling streets or busting fences
do they make a noise or bite
so why
would people get it in their heads
to take an axe and look for them
but that appears the case
and some now die
in Greece we know its happening
in eastern Europe too
the strays are getting chopped up fast
so someone wants to do
the dirty on them that’s for sure
and the authorities don’t care
the animal earthlings
are now getting ill treated everywhere
there are a few small agencies
and street angels that care
that work to help the orphanages
now bursting with despair
but clearly in society
stray dogs are being lost
and because money is tight
no one can stand the cost
and so we get these killers really
roaming here and there
ready to knock their blocks off
because there’s, no one to care
