The Nile Crocodile

This hungry and voracious reptile
Loves the taste of flesh
A misanthropic monster
Your limbs it does
relish
No concern for children
Or women on the banks
This unbelievably dangerous beast
Lies in wait and thanks
Everyone for filling up their
Vessels every day
they wait submerged
And suddenly leap
And massively bite away

Such ferocity of purpose
They are hungry and they will
Leap and drag a being
And rapidly they kill
In amongst the papyrus grass
On floating islands they
Often make their nests
An on these secret areas lay
Many eggs and then of course
They guard them,
they come back
And anybody fishing there
Comes under attack

Uganda
Many villages are around the place
Fetching water feeding cattle
It’s a real disgrace
That Many many women are sadly
Caught off guard
Their limbs ripped off in front of family
Which is extremely hard

To cope with and we are seeing
Traps being placed around
The idea is to catch them
And transfer them across ground
To what is a large National park
Safer from the places
Where villagers are living
Going through their paces
Nile crocodiles apparently
Have a penchant for
Humans above all else
Actually it’s a war

So many native people
Those survivors who
Were attacked but who got away
As some actually do
Missing legs and arms
Along with cattle stolen they
Are causing so much fear and anguish
Really every day.
Almost every family has lost
A child apparently
And these crocs really hunt us
Down
They are Such a menace actually.
