Shipping live birds by post

These are delicate beings
Feathered and true
Packed like some parcel
That’s what we do
Imagine the fear buildup
In their dear heart
As the truck travels here there and everywhere
Start
the craziest stress
An agenda so fraught
With anguish and nervousness
Every thought
Many don’t make it
They can’t get away
Smothered by cardboard
And tape do yo say
