Humming birds of the volcanoes

They need 12000 calories
Every single day
Humming birds
Their small wings hum
What is there to say
Above the clouds they are nesting
Austere environments where
Pint sized flowers
These pollinators
At high alert they play
All on high manoeuvres
Nectar drives them they
Flying forwards flying backwards
Volcanoes all the way

Gravity means nothing
Caldera’s colours scream
Noble ness personified
Gentlefolk they be
Casting off their shackles
And living magically
Each a crowning glory
Fine and fudged they
Follow through doing their stuff
Harmony at play

Every leap a challenge
Their brazenness on fire
Rebellious in so many ways
They seemingly don’t tire
Unremitting efforts
So much alacrity
An earnestness to seek out
And so Spirited to me
