A beautiful large freshwater Lake
Threatened as we see
By sewerage from discharges
Sadly the apathy
From government and shareholders
As the algae blooms do grow
And the illegal activity
That lots around here know
Wild fish swim it’s deeper depths
Illegal spills are happening
People look the other way
Locals hit by higher bills
Someone’s got to pay
Blame the true consumers
And look around the place
Wet wipes stuck on tree trunks
Of course it’s a disgrace
The governments cane up to see
Promises all around
They know they have been naughty boys
So many spills they have found
A thirty two per cent hike
Coming on the bills
We have to protect our countryside
And the glorious hills
Knowingly they dump away
Sewerage happens come what May
The environment, really just who cares
Some possibly do say their prayers
But others, well they look away
They spend their profits every day
The water’s green up
They don’t care
It’s the balance sheet
That they are more aware
As for algae blooms
And the great green slime
And few dead fish
Passing with time
The arctic char and the sweet brown trout
Pike and Perch out and about
The ducks the geese and of course the swans
Wildlife matters and responds
To pollutive ideology
To broken promises
Constantly
Discharging polluted substances
Is happening as we all can see.
