Simotua the little Elephant

They found him in the Rumuruti Forest
A little baby elephant was he
Got caught in a poachers snare
And then Stabbed by some native
A really nasty wound so horribly
Clearly in a lot of pain
With infection setting in
Writhing, he in agony
And was getting thin
No strength really to talk of
Suffering like hell
The Sheldrick trust they found him
And airlifted him to be
Hoping he would recover
In a park in Nairobi

Urgent care was offered
The pain though was intense
They nursed him and they loved him
It really made great sense
He fought and fought
But sadly his injuries got worse
And on the 16/3
Last year
He passed
