Pork and the pigs that enable it

A crusading spirit
From activists show
Moments of chivalry
And a pig farm on show
Over the wall witness to their plight
Long suffering piglets
Crowded in pens
Covered in shit
With lots of their friends

They piss and they shit
Where they walk, where they lay
Poor little babies living this way
Stony hearted the piggeries
Unmoved are they
Abnormal living
Day after day
Wilful neglect
Unwilling to care
A bungling management
Everywhere.

Mismanaged and bungled
Abandoned all day
Left in the dark
In so much dismay
Offhand and rude
Thevpiglets they cry
Marginalised till the moment they die

Utter contempt
The name of the game
Lying in shit
It’s what we claim
Leaving them worthless
Spurned every hour
The carping and niggling
From the blacklisted power
