“John”

The greatest compliment
One can get
Is being like
A father
Let
the daughter tell you
That she feels
That you alone
Kind of reveals
All the goodness
That he possessed
He just made everyone feel blessed

This lass with the brightest eyes of blue
When she just says this to you
My dad John He passed a while
A man who loved life
And great style
This lass who works in Waitrose, she
Said I reminded her of him and we
Spoke a while poetically
John was honest and obviously
Is sorely missed
She loved him so
Just listening to her
Of course I know

How lovely he was
And how much he loved her
