Breathing

All of us breathe

thank goodness for that

Much is at home

in our mansions or flat

Some 20,000litres

of air every day

which is largely unknown

ut in fact we all pay

a figure to scare

a cocktail of chemicals

may come  to mind

the scents and the chemicals

really they find

their way into our homes

all sorts of stuff

gaseous  and particles

but we don’t know enough

of their affect

its pollution you know

synthetic materials

just grow and grow

chemical  vapours

Injurious  to

Our hearts and our lungs

we don’t know what they do

indoor pollutants

not so much wood

double brick walls

aluminium frames

all is not good

ceilings are lower

impervious floors

bad ventilation

all this ignores

the true cost of  breathing

Partitions  we see

indoor air pollution

it now seems to be

Carpets, paints sealed floors

and VOC’sCausing respiratory disorders

And disease

benzene,formaldehyde

it’s now everywhere

sick building syndrome

so much despair

Personal  care products

soaps and shampoos

Plywood and particle boards

replacing  real wood

In kitchens and bathroom

which isn’t good

shelving and furniture

varnish and glue

much higher temperatures

what can we do

Poly vinyl everywhere

xylene and styrene it mucks up the air

lets think more about breathing

the air in our home

the myriad chemicals

as less we roam

chlorine in water

there should be concern

carcinogens everywhere
