Limerick and the magical Hares

Limerick hosts wild Hares

in captivity

the idea is to train up dogs

so they

can chase these magical beings

coursing as it’s known

a sport of frightful cruelty

that truly has been shown

to be just nasty goings on

violence let us say

get the dogs to brutally

to their lives put pay.

Hare Coursing excites punters

wild Hares of the field

living in their universe

marvellously concealed

not in deep down burrows

but on earth in their forms

long legged racing bunnies

Their energy just warms

to seasons that are changing

morning jaunts where they

if captured will be tortured

and killed

just seen as prey
