The Blackbird

We are rarer by far

us Blackbirds yes males

ebony tuxedo’s

but something now fails

us masculine  birdees

Apparently

mosquito’s in water Butts

and small ponds can be

sharing a toxin a killer in fact

lots more dead blackbirds

it’s how we react

to the bug, so just cover the butt

that will aid

save us from  passing

it makes us afraid

to drink from these uncovered butts

if we do

we can pick up the virus

and that does work through

into our being degrading us so

killing us slowly

so now folks we know

small ponds alas
