Elephants

Being a wild being
Out in the wilds of Africa
Subject to climatic altercations
One can find
a Matriarch struck down and killed
The broken heart
of a beautiful mind

Her bones lie bleached by sun and rain
The feeling herds have much to gain
Showing respect offering grace
Coming by to show their face
Touching her bones
carrying them, they
Give something back
it is their way

Elephants great land animals they
Socially serve both night and day
All have footsteps on this earth
All appreciate each others worth
The Matriarch
a mindful queen
With intense knowledge,
she had been
A leader in so many ways
Winning the present families
praise
