Suffering

In Maryland
We hear what they
Get up to working
Everyday
On downtrodden monkeys
Long suffering they
Are frightened to death
Most every day
They shake and they holler
Anguished they be
Picked up and beaten
Fretting for free

Stolen from the wild
To be caged and told
Seen to be blubbering in the cold
Heavy and drab
In a frightful way
Teasing buffoonery and horse play
Removing organs imagine that
Meddling with nature where it’s at
Surely the government ought to be
Shutting down this facility.
