Elephants and Buddha

Buddha says be kind
But the monks many blind
The mahouts many cruel
Circus as a rule zoo keepers we know
A selfish lot
Loggers and tourism elephants got
a terrible deal
From the holiest of men
Who beat them who holler
Then beat them agen
