Bunks the little Asian Elephant

Elephants are social creatures

loving of their mothers

he was born in Tbilisi Zoo

and when  seven taken away

that would make him

very sad

he would miss her  dreadfully

from Georgia to Yerevan in Armenia

where he

a solitary Elephant would  suffer

they swapped him with another

who had dental problems and so

bunka became a solitary

which depressed him as we know

animals love each other

families guided by

Their  mothers

for the wisdom

shared which they apply

to life zoo’s are unsociable

prisons in a way

a business to make money

a loathing so to say

freedom not disrespected

a lack of understanding

captivity is desolate

And exceptionally  demanding

no compatibility

no sense of belonging

alignment with one’s mother

dependant

always longing

for mother for her teaching

pliant in a way

servility and subservience

the order of his day

no one to fraternise with

he so missed his mama

Keeping his  own company

he had lost his star

seclusion made him grumpy

solitude made him sad

an introvert an outcast

in his heart he just felt bad

morose and misanthropic

distant and aloof

and he’s still there

cloistered  inside under a roof

really no affection

no closeness none at all

no one spoke his language

acerbity and gall

anger and resentment

a smouldering desire

to get into the open

and regain some of his fire.

bunka needs some freedom

needs to breathe fresh air

needs to chomp on greenery

And in  the water share

some  feelings of his yesteryear

real normality

pay homage and enjoy respect

and really just feel free.
