Africa’s droughts
are so profound
Encrusting and hardening
our precious groundHuman
and animal suffer and be
Dried out and suffering so savagely
We beg for the rains
The need for to see
Crops growing high
Looking into the sky
Hoping there be
Rain coming soon
Rain warm and wet
Rain in our faces
Along with hot sweat.
