Africa’s true colours

Your intensity

your brilliance

madder cochineal

a hectic flush of sunset

a flushing blushing real

brimstone sulphur ivory

Verdant grassy green

fuchsia and magenta

africa has been

alive with vibrant colours

with a pale and  grizzled sky

the mountains in the distance

avert one’s gaze on high

the majesty of the animals

the clarity of land

the manifestation of wildness

all can understand

warriors come hither

ochre faces red

exhibiting such valour

intellectually led

Confidence and conviction

the Masai  recognise

spectators in this wondrous world

the spectacle to surmise

Africa your pageantry your colourful attire

bodying forth in every sense

exhibiting true fire
