Mullein and the sable haired goddess

A lady fair

with sable hair

she swears by the Mullein

the most woolly of the plants

a naturopath  skills

a maiden of chance

those woolly  leaves

maybe Adams Flannel

perhaps beggars blanket

A healing channel

verbascum thapsus

on hedges galore

at roadsides it rocks

and comes back for more

the down give praise

as tinder we

may light the fire

yes constantly

and witches lamps

the wick it be

hags taper thus

historically

ones lungs hail mary

they

will be healed

more so every day

a poultice on ones

haemmorrhoids

strains and swelling

it avoids

inflammation and can be

a smoking mixture

evidently

strengthens the bowels

an astringent too

kills off ringworm

and for scalds its true

sees off warts

when dabbed around

sees off migraine

we have found

a golden colour for the hair

a flower profusion

there I share

Mullein seeds thrown

in a stream

will encourage fish

to share  your dream

..

Ashes of the plant

will preserve the hair

colour from grey

so be aware

asthma

and a spasmodic cough

a gentle mug of mullein

off

slowly drink its purity

and of  the ill you will be free

Ulysses believe it to  be

a cure all

against the wiles of one Circe.
