Wilderness Warriors

Wilderness God made
Each part of it, he
Created the balance
The plant and the tree
The lakes and the deserts
And animals too
The heavenly balance
An whats coming through

Habitats lost
The great pioneers
They brought in their farming
And, there were tears
As wildness was tamed
At the end of each day
People moved in
With their homes and their land
Took out the wildness
Who dares understand

The wolf and the Bear
And the native who gave
Much to the prairies
And we wanted to save
Some aspects of harmony
The closeness of those
Who lived and who died
And who tragically chose

Plots tO raise cattle
Beef for their meat
Mutton it mattered
The grass at their feet
Money and voters
And clearly some power
The townsfolk the taxes
That came with each hour

They grew and the wildness
Was bordering on
Everything changed
The countryside gone
Valleys and hillocks
And rivers and lakes
The forests the fields
For all of our sakes

The wilderness warriors
Carved out their place
Godly the characters
That we all fAce
We must look after
The wolf and the Bear
The Eagle the Hare
We must all be aware

Give credence to wildness
For it does compete
Factory farming
And huge stacks of wheat
Ranges and markets
And slaughter and pain
We must not work in haste
In the storm or the rain
