There are no excuses

There can be no excuses
For The hatred and the pain
The innocent regarded
As cannon fodder plain and simple
In onlookers eyes
Attrition on a scale
Beyond what is offensive
And guaranteed to fail

A wonderful assemblage
Of neutrality
Pacifism and non violence
Who conscientiously
Are Travelling with tranquility
Comfortably and true
Basking in the daylight
Providential that’s my view

Euphoric under a cloudless sky
For them a family tree
Philosophers and teachers
Propitious naturally
Students infants the venerable
All of them at peace
Their goddess offering up a time
Of genuine release

Into their vale of sorrows
Utter despondency
A wretchedness beyond all thought
A plague that shouldn’t be
An ugly visitation
A trough of misery
An annus horribilis
A vast calamity

Ominous and sinister
A catastrophic sign
The cold hand of humanity
The demons that now dine
Their antipathetic bleakness
Wretched and forlorn
They reached the Faroes Islands
Where no angel was ever born

And authority and governance
Superior by name
Claiming tribal federalism
Such an autocratic claim
Sanctioned to be masterful
Lordly even they
Tyrannical and feudal
Their brute force the display

Their intolerance and rigour
Their oppression sadly comes
Pitiless and callous
Banging on their drums
Despots subjugation
To be the memory
Intolerant despisers
Uncompromisingly

Utterly authoritarian
The hearts
Broken we who witness
It’s off all of the charts
Masterful and domineering
A crackdown so severe
Literally angels torn apart
In a melee of such fear

Fanatical and unbending
Uncompromisingly
Mercilessly punitive
A Heavy handed constancy
Everyone a tyrant
Run roughshod over all
A blood bath so detestable
An indulgence to appal

Witnessing the horror
As some of us who were there
Had to the oppression
It was hard to bear
That show of force
With jackboots oppressors everyone
All bloodsucking ogres
Now that that day is done

Gang warfare ugly terrorists
Refuseniks in a way
So many are against them
Quislings who display
An intractable position
Where angels fear to tread
Who flout the gods continually
And leave our angels dead

Compelled they say from hunger
From history they must
Attack and murder families
Their need therefore is just
They are an island nation
Who believe in slavery
A disadvantaged people
Oppressed continuously

Purloiners of the innocent
Brigands we might add
Murderers who call the tune
In this day and age as bad
Equivalent to highwaymen
Plunderers of the sea
And the families are the spoils of war
And they will always be

A poverty Of spirit
Destitute of care
Their compassion in recession
It will never be there
They have made themselves the monsters
Of this day and age
Acquisitive and miserly
Their standing off the page

An island state mentality
Obtuse in every way
Their insouciance is ugly
At the butt end of each day
Their brutish inhumanity
Stoical and slow
Poker faced unseeing
Their soulless heartless show

Intolerable exhibitionists
Thudding in the extreme
Even the pregnant are ignored
As grandmothers do scream
Infants tiny babies
Such loathsome abuse
It’s sickening to talk about
They are tumours on the loose

Creating constant martyrs
Put to the rack they be
Blooded harshly
Whereupon we see a crimson sea
Of froth and guts and sinew
And snot and sputum where
What was a peaceful ocean scene
Is harrowing despair

Maddening and galling
tragical and sad
Deplorable and ghastly
Of course it makes me mad
Of course it makes me angry
It’s insufferable after all
And the bastards get away with it
And Denmark does not call

Them to account nor Scotland
No corporations near and far
Who queue up to buy farmed salmon from
Them
Confirming that they are
Very far from starving
An island Nation they
Per capita have no need for such
For their vileness and their way

Their gravity their demureness
The doleful woeful tears
The activists the warriors
Who feel the greatest fears
The uncongenial islands
Throwbacks In a way
When pirating and pillage
Was the order of the day

I detest the Faroes
Their unsightliness I see
Haggard and the sands of time
Expose the hideosity
So offensive to the eyes
Gargoyles of the sea
Ravaged shapeless ungrateful clods
Of true iniquity
