Self isolate

Self isolate with confidence
And use the time to learn
Get A chair in a south facing window
And let your eyes discern
Whatever’s going on outside
In my case what I see
Is a host of golden daffodils
Under a cherry tree
I also see a Copper Beech
Some thirty five feet high
Where a magpie and a pigeon sits
Watching the world go by

A mature bush of protection
the rosemary evergreen
With lilac spangles all aglow
Where Sylphs are often seen
In the cool light of the morning
Actually close to Dawn
a busy time for fairies
When blessings are often borne
Onto the world from a great height
An awakening for all
infrequently a human and a dog
Pass by my wall
A flash of sweat and draw string pants
So more wild souls on view
A blackbird and a sparrow
A squirrel on the fence
And I haven’t even moved an inch
My gaze makes so much sense
There’s mallow chickweed and plantain
And stinging nettles too
All of them I’m going to eat
nutritiously they do
Promise a wild and balanced lunch
With Some flat bread That Ive made
An inch or two of hummus
And some Home made lemonade.
I am isolating quietly
The muse of course in me
Really working overtime
It’s lovely just to be
Winding back from stressing
About lock down And all that
feeling the earth’s sweet blessings
On the right side of my mat.
