“Bunica”

The humility and patience
Of the angel who came by
Who could see the undoubted suffering
Of a dog and thought to try
and catch her, she was restless
Impulsive and she ran
Through the thorns and bushes
Clearly not the plan
But the angels were
For catching her
And carried on to see
If they could feed her
Sleeping pills
and slow her down
A key
Method in the rescue
Of this frightened soul
And sure enough they managed
And with patience and control

Caught her and put her in
Box
And took her to the vet
Her little tail was wagging still
And it seems the bet
Was to examine her
And name her.and “BUNICA” was her name
The angel with the blue hair
Which was her claim to fame

Prepared she was for the surgery
And day two the biopsy done
The removal of the tumour
A collar on she’d won
An “Under Construction” collar
And by day seven we could see
Tail wagging great big joyful eyes
Love and caringly
Kisses love and more love.
By Day 20 she was well
Shy and very beautiful
Big brown eyes that spell
Joyfulness and fortune
Enthralled one has to be
From how she was when they found her
To now unbelievably

By Day 60 she was ready
For adoption and we know
All the work the angels do
And did and ofcourse the show
Goes on and on the rescues
Almost every day
These angels come in trucks and cars
And rescue that’s their way.
