Expectation

You can feel the love
Its there to see
Dont pass me by
Please look at me
So many humans
Want a hound
A wolf all sorts
But those around

Already abandoned
Unloved uncared
So want a home
Want to be shared
This boxer
His lack of expectation
A foretaste
Of his contemplation

Bursting with energy
Look at me
Dont pass me by
Help me to be
A dog again
A sweet refrain
A loyal support
No need to train

I am wary
And I will be
Kind to you
If you to me
Pick me take me
Give me a chance
I wont give you a song or dance

I am disappointed
Of course I am
Counting my chickens
Before i clam
Up its true in some fear
To really end my days
Stuck here

In a cage
They pass me by
There are tears
Yea in my eye
But I dont show them
Like others do
I just try to hit
On you
Or you or you
I need a place
Some one kind
A nice sweet face

We can go for walks
Play with a ball
Just sit in my basket
In the hall
Bark when theres people at the door
Try hard really not to snore
And be your pal
For EVERMORE
