A candour and frankness
All seeing
Fresh eyes
seeing all that is there
Unvarnished and unartificial
and being aware
Wide-eyed and blameless
An enquiring mind
A thirst and a reason
In all that we find
Curiously searching
Engrossed in it all
Mindful and needful
And ready to call
All the light
From the sky
Brings colours to be
Perceiving the aura
Sensitively
An intuitiveness
Born of instinctive
Thoughts
pre programmed with
Knowledge
inspired of sorts
By the big world
Around us
By the noises we hear
By the smells in the garden
And the bird song so clear
Feeling that gracefulness
That unlaboured sound
Of the cricket or
The scuffling mouse on the ground
Being at that level
Everything seems
To be tall
A perspective
Just Open to all
Bugs in the grass
Or a web on the fence
Or the sun through the trees
That just seems to make sense
Wonderment everywhere
An enchanted place
Mums always smiling
Her beautiful face
Her voice ever calming
Her hands always soft
And I can almost touch
The sky
When she holds me aloft
A robin sits quietly
In the garden today
With cars driving past
He has little to say
He listens avidly
To the odd squirm
Lifting his head
And hearing the worm
Watching the gardener
Digging the loam
Exposing the bugs
And soon he will comb
Through the looseness
Provided for surely
There will
Be dinner for him
And he will get his fill
As we grow to be big
So much then we miss
The leaves on the trees
Their colours
The bliss
Of seeing the small things
Of being aware
To be kind of childlike
Its then when you share
The balance of nature
You dont have to know
What the latin name is
You just watch things grow
All seeing all hearing
All caring
You be
Childlike perhaps
With the courage to see
Whats in your backyard
No need to go far
Under a stone
You might see a star
A slow worm perhaps
That adults seldom see
So many adults miss
So much and they be
In need of stimulants
Everyday
The coffee the alcohol
And thats their way
Of seeing whats not there
Of smoking a joint
And in their reality
Missing the point.
