Ularu

Ularu’s arkosic sandstone
A great palette of soul
Where the ancient people
Knew of their role
To love and respect
To have empathy for
The environment
The animals spirits galore
They painted their pigments
up onto the rock
They drank from the springs
Where they could unlock
All the stories of ancestors
Lives and today
They still respect all that is life
And their way
Is its not there to climb on
Or to scratch on your name
Its to respect and revere
That is their endgame

Ularu or ayres rock
Kata tjuta a place
Where the Pitjantjatjara
Proudly showed their face
Feldspar and quartz
And calcite too
A beautiful rock
standing proudly in view
