Hermit crabs grow annually
And really need a place to live
Home and housing sadly
Causes stress that seems to give
Crabs a really miserable time
The natural shells are taken
By tourists off the beaches
Leaving certain critters shaken
A residence in sandy bay
Close to the Andaman sea
Is the place to hangout
where the high class like to be
Its kind of natural timeshare
For every single year
They do outgrow their dwelling
Home sweet home its clear
Housing yea in paradise
Is harder by the day
And so they resort to garbage
Thats left around the bay
Pepsi cans and mackerel cans
But staying put in these
It can be disconcerting
For there is no place to squeeze
To lock on with their bodies
Thats what hermits do
Its such a drag to contort oneself
Despite the lovely view
And so the humans trying to help
Leave sea shells all about
So hermits can find places now
That leave them little doubt
You still may see the mackerel can
Moving down the beach
And probably find a hermit crab
A squatter on out reach
But clearly housing sucks
The hermit crabs they all agree
When Finding suitable detached shells
Washed up by the sea
And we think London’s housing
Can and is a pain
But imagine having to move each year
It certainly does drain
The average hermit funnily enough
In Paradise the housing shortage
Is equally as tough
