The detrimental affects of farming shrimps

Shrimp farming has devasted the
Mangrove forests they
Are halophytes salt tolerant trees
That form coastlines every day

Destruction isnt pretty or
Practical its Hell
And every indigenous specues leaves
So nobody does well

Mud skippers and tiny embryo’s suffer
And Its not right
The expansion of Shrimp Farming
It produced a blight

The roots that do grow outwards
And reclaim land so to say
Creating natural fitration
Really day to day

And shrimp farmsrs use by-catch
Poaching vessels score
Illegal use of drift lines
Almost an all out war

The Thai indigenous know this
They realise the ploy
And began to re seed mangroves
On crab boards they employ

Programmes of re planting
And already skippers do
Come back to the mud flats
Which is really true

Mangroves are essential
To the environemnt today
Shrimp farming is a colossal mess
Which clearly did away

With all the positive outcomes
Imaginable before
a reinstatement programme
Means its much better for sure
