Trucks of pigs

Clearly they have been knocked about
Scuffed legs bruised and cut
Unfed and lacking water
Its open and shut
Clearly they were all aware
Death was coming to
A truck load of victims
Knowing where they are going to

Flies crawling on their backs
It is what flies do
It is hot in Australia
And clearly the whole crew
Have been tipped around a bit
And now they have arrived
“Get over it”
Someone shouts
“We eat meat to survive
“Get used to it”
You sentimental fools
They liked their ride
I mean they are just living meat
Lying in their stalls
Muddlied clearly
Buddies here there are no rules
Shrieking they are noisy
The slaughterhouse is where
They are going to get the chop
And wish they were not there

Looking through the slats
They are a pitiful sight
Their little eyes incredibly wise
But clearly now the light
Is fading from their being
Each know that each must die
To fill the guts of human beings
Who ask us now why

We demonstrate our reluctance
To ever eat their meat
The girls are taking pictures
Their power is to unseat
Our emotions in so many ways
To imagine what they go through
In all sorts of terror
Then that is what we do

There are no fairy godmothers
About to save the day
ALF is present to record this and to say
How one group of people can be here to try
To save a group of animals
And the rest want them to die
Its remorseless just how many trucks
Are coming all of these
Animals will die today
And this is just to please
The restaurants and the TV chefs
And the supermarkets where
Most now buy these cuts of meat
Totally unaware

However wrong we think it is
Their immortality
Is impossible in this day and age
The culpability is evident
Its everywhere
“BAcon” you hear them cry
All that salt and all that fat
In the twinkling of an eye

Nitrites in the process
Carcinogenic stuff
But most people who eat
They can not get enough
We are in the minority
And the disparagement we get
They just all lack conscience
As they raise their karmic debt
