The trumpeter plays quietly

Such a shyness about them
Beautifully white
Very big birds
Serene when in flight
Their long neck
And black feet
Contrast and we
Watched them over snake river
Fly effortlessly

NOrth America boasts
So gentle they be
They love the cold weather
They escape naturally
Like passing clouds
Fugitives who
When together in flight
Hold the eyes of a few

They are enchanting to
Watch in the air
And on the lakes
Where so many share
Its the crispness of air
That engages their soul
Their credible forms
And their spirited role

Gently they glide
With their enormous wings
Climbing up into the sky
And that brings
The illumination of sunlight upon
The radiance factor until they are gone

They are resplendent in so many ways
Shadowless beings a passing phase
They are a melody all to themselves
A great ululation that expectantly delves
Into our heartstrings exciting us so
Giving bAck a great deal to those who now know
