The humour in Yule

Winter comes
Like beating drums
Like frozen thumbs
When a few chums
Around a blazing
Real log fire
Sup ginger wine
And I aspire
To write
A yuletide story
And
To tweet it to
A far off land

I like to dream
my day away
And my inner child
just loves to play
If it snows, a snowman may
evolve
if not i think the day
This year for me is
to reminisce
On the people in my life
I miss
And this year there is a couple who
Have gone away as people do

A lot of people have died this year
For me the druids thus hold dear
Stone Henge and ROLL Rights are for me
A kind of serendipity
And ritual writing helps me too
For its an enchanting thing to do
It relaxes me in so many ways
And with more research it truly pays

I shall be alone on Christmas Day
And am aware that I feel okay
But maybe this is the last yule for me
If another year on earth I see
This year I have a lot to do
To clear off some loans that did accrue
To ready myself for a possible end
To a life thats driven me around the bend

I am definately madder than before
Travelling really I did adore
But I think I like the druidry more
I have thought about it and I am sure
Every day I shall try to give
A little back so I can live
A dreamier life no extra stress
For less is more and more is less
