A glimpse of Antarctica

Arches of blue
Like mountains so true
Antarctica’s waters
Are cold and are deep
A fin and a body
Lifts gently to peep
A great gasp of breath
And everyone knows
Orca’s are here
And I do suppose
They came just to see us
Their priority
Was something eternal
Something so free
Compared to those killer whales
Stuck in Sea World
Having lost rheir Nirvana
And instead were hurled

In a tiny chlorinated tank
That was dead
This a reality
Really that led
Me to come so far
To Antarctica’s
Ice fields
To see a new star
The wildest of Orca’s
The hint of some white
With the black standing tall
And a massive bite
Arches of blue
The mountains so true
A fin and a body
And one massive clue
